Man City chairman's comments gain clarity as Chelsea, Real Madrid size up Raheem Sterling raid

The reasons why Real Madrid and Chelsea are eyeing a surprise Raheem Sterling raid have been detailed amid comments from Man City’s chairman. Man City have already signed Julian Alvarez and have all but wrapped up a deal to bring Erling Haaland on board. However, recent comments by Man City chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, revealed their business was far from completed. “I can confirm that there will be more players coming in,” he told Man City’s official website. “We are looking to strengthen the team in the areas that we need strengthening. As you know, every season some players leave, and then we have to continuously refresh the team. “Again, we will always look at improving and strengthening. I think we’ve made two very important additions already, but I anticipate we’ll be doing a couple more. “We’ll try to go as fast as we can, but you know how the market goes. It’s not always entirely in our control.” What positions Man City will target are as yet unknown. However, according t...

The Brazilian finds himself on a ten-man shortlist for the prize and is up against the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema Manchester United defender Alex Telles has been nominated for the Champions League's goal of the season award. The Brazilian has been shortlisted for his strike in a 2-1 win over Villarreal in the group stage of the competition. On most occasions, the end of the season is accompanied by a melancholic feeling. This is the time when football fans start contemplating how they’ll go through the next couple of months without their beloved club – of course getting a new hobby or spending more time with loved ones are viable options, but we know better at this point. But for Juventus, the end of the campaign might actually be a reason to celebrate rather than feeling sorrowful about it. Because after watching what has become a degenerated version of the team aimlessly sailing towards the finish line, the end has become a genuine relief for the supporters… and perhaps for the players themselves. Now surely sealing a top four spot with three rounds to spare left the side completely unmotivated, but the shade of a team that we witnessed on Saturday against Fiorentina regressed into a shameful disaster. This isn’t the first time the Bianconeri put together a negative run after achieving its objectives, but this season, t...

The club are in desperate need of a rebuild with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen set to leave on free transfers, coupled with the fact it will be the first transfer window under prospective new owner Todd Boehly. Blues  fans will get a first glimpse of the post Roman Abramovich era and Boehly will be keen to show that the club can continue to compete with Europe’s elite in the transfer market. Aside from defensive issues that will need to be addressed after Rudiger and Christensen depart, midfield is another area that needs to be strengthened. N’Golo Kante and Jorginho are both in their 30s and their respective deals at Stamford Bridge expire next summer. With that in mind the club will be keen to sign a younger central midfielder and one name that has been linked with a move to west London c...
