New Celtic coach Harry Kewell has discussed what he has learned so far in coaching and where he is at before taking on the job in Celtic’s backroom staff. It was announced on Friday that Kewell would join Ange Postecoglou’s backroom staff for the forthcoming season, linking up with John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan as Stephen McManus take on a new role with the Celtic B team. So far, Kewell has managed Watford’s U23s, Crawley Town, Notts County, Oldham Athletic and Barnet but it is important to note that even though his managerial record may not be exemplary he is being appointed to Celtic as a coach not a manager. The 26-year-old was let go by Ralf Rangnick in the January transfer window but his six-month loan at Sevilla has done him no good. Martial failed to find the net in any of his nine appearances in La Liga and sustained two-month-long injuries, which seriously hampered his bid to resurrect his career.
